Cbank sees Russians’ 1-year inflationary expectations at 11.6%
MOSCOW, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- Russians’ 1-year inflationary expectations decreased to 11.6% in January from 12.1% in December, as seen by PRIME in the central bank’s materials on Tuesday.
"According to a poll by inFOM (central bank's statistics research contractor), inflationary expectations of the population decreased in January 2023 remaining at an elevated level of April–December 2022,” the central bank said.
“The median inflationary expectations estimate amounted to 11.6% for the next 12 months (minus 0.5 percentage point from December 2022)."
The perceived inflation in January dropped to 14.9% from 16.3% in December.
